May 21, 2014 - Agilent Technologies introduced an averager real-time processing function for 8-bit U5309A and 12-bit U5303A PCIe high-speed digitizers Averaging signals reduces random noise effects, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio and increases resolution and dynamic range. The fast sampling rate of up to 3.2 GS/s is achieved with a single trigger and acquisition, and does not require the use of equivalent-time sampling techniques. Averaging is up to 520,000 triggers per record with a self-trigger mode to effectively minimize synchronous pattern noise within the application. The average capabilities, together with the recently announced peak detection and digitizer real-time functions, provide Agilent customers with a complete and flexible toolbox to achieve the best analysis possible for their applications' requirements. The software driver included with the digitizer allows the application to easily switch between signal processing functions.
