TecNet Introduces Maxon SD-170EX Data Radios

January 13, 2014 - TecNet released the Maxon SD-170EX series of data/telemetry radios. Features of the SD-170EX models include CTCSS/DCS tone capability and a tri-color LED indicator that provides instant on-sight status of the radios operation. Models are available in the VHF (142-174 MHz) and UHF (450-490 MHz) frequency ranges; an additional UHF band split of 400-430 MHz is to be added in the near future. This series of radios are in addition to the Maxon SD-125E and SD-170E line of  data transceiver products. All Maxon data radios provide adjustable power from one (1) to five (5) watts, narrow band capability (12.5 kHz), 16 channels (dip-switch controlled), adjustable squelch, BNC antenna connector, and Windows based PC programmability. Applications include the wireless monitoring and/or control to a variety of markets that include irrigation, oil & gas, mobile data, security/alarm, weather, and water/waste treatment. Maxon radios provide audio capability for external PA systems and repeaters. The SD-170EX series can also be modified with the POCSAG encoding protocol for paging applications. For SCADA solutions, certain models have plug in modem board options at 4800 and 9600 baud rates for 12.5 kHz and 25 kHz respectively. Rated for use between -30 and +60 degrees Celsius, all models are manufactured in a compact die cast aluminum cabinet that provides exceptional durability in the most extreme conditions. The size of each unit measures at 117 x 62 x 35 mm and weighs only 267 grams. External DB-9 or DB-15 connectors provide an easy and reliable connection.
