Deutschmann introduces UNIGATE CAN and CANopen gateways

December 3, 2013 - Deutschmann Automation introduces the UNIGATE CM line of CAN and CANopen gateways for DIN rail assembly. The devices connect CAN and CANopen applications to networks based on various protocols such as Modbus TCP, Profibus DP, MPI, DeviceNet, POWERLINK, EtherCAT, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP. Featuring a CAN/CANopen master interface with Mini-Master functionality, the gateways can connect both CANopen networks and individual CANopen devices into higher-level networks that are based on different protocols.

Optionally, UNIGATE CM devices are available with I/Os that can be set as inputs or outputs for any application by means of the Deutschmann script. The script implements terminal device protocols. It can also be used to emulate complex protocols, buffer data, and process it in any desired manner.

Customer-specific commands can be integrated, operations can be linked with time and event-based triggers, and all data and bus statuses can be displayed. Deutschmann provides the Protocol Developer tool free of charge which enables users to generate the script without special programming skills or fieldbus knowledge.
