August 28, 2013 - ICP DAS USA releases GRP-520 for bringing RS-232, RS-485 and Ethernet devices to the Internet over the cellular network. GRP-520 allows communication with remote devices like PLCs, controllers, computers, data acquisition equipment and instrumentation. It can be used for remote video monitoring, serial to cellular wireless communication, temperature monitoring and I/O control. 3G is third generation cellular mobile telecommunications technology. It provides higher transfer rates compared to previous generation technology. Most areas in the United States have 3G coverage and 3G devices can be used through cell towers. Cellular providers provide a map that is usually accessible through their website for information on coverage areas. GRP-520 is a wireless 3G gateway device that provides a web server, 3G router, RS-232 and RS-485 ports, and real time clock. The device can be rebooted, backed up, restored, and configured through the web server from a remote location. It is din rial mountable, supports data logging on a microSD card, and supports port mapping. It supports WCDMA2100/1900/850 MHz and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
