PULS introduces Ultracap Buffer Modules. Back-up for minutes with a DC-UPS utilising only one 12V battery or for seconds with our battery-free buffer module with no battery wear out. This prevents down time, loss of data and long restart sequences.

Currently, the commonly used battery for DC-UPS systems is VRLA battery (Valve regulated lead acid battery) which has many shortcomings as below:

  • Short lifetime
  • Must be replaced periodically
  • Limited temperature range (0…+40ÀöC), out of which may cause over-aging of batteries, the reduction of the battery’s capacity and even the generation of the flammable and explosive gas, Hydrogen
  • The heavy metal lead which is contained in the battery production process and expiring process is difficult to be handled properly, resulting the environmental pollution and being harmful to people’s health

In contrast, the “gold capacitor” Ultracap EDLC (Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitors) with the following advantages can meet the requirements of new technologies and global environmental trends:

  • Long lifetime expectancy
  • Maintenance-free
  • Wide temperature rage for the increasing demands of outdoor applications
  • Higher power and longer buffer time with the extremely low resistance
  • EDLC prices became lower during the last years and using them as an energy source is now affordable.
