October 2, 2013 - Softing releases PBpro CompactPCI PROFIBUS interface board, based on 19" CompactPCI technology. It is able to reliably execute existing and new PROFIBUS applications under extremely rough industrial conditions. The PBpro CompactPCI is designed to implement PC-based PROFIBUS-Master or Slave applications with stringent requirements in regards to performance and availability. The possibility to configure this board into a redundant master system renders this solution into the perfect fit for high-availability applications. In general, Softing’s PROFIBUS boards are globally used in a wide range of applications including compact slave solutions, solutions for mobile devices, operation and visualization terminals, real-time machine controls, and extended temperature-range applications. Softing's protocol software is designed to support the following protocols:

  • PROFIBUS DP-V0    
  • PROFIBUS FMS
  • PROFIBUS DP-V1    
  • PROFIBUS FDL
  • PROFIBUS DP-V2    
  • MPI

Drivers for the Windows and Linux operating systems are available and ready to be downloaded. The driver package includes documentation and demo applications with source code for both operating systems.
