April 30, 2013 - Barco released updated generation of FlexiRay RFID UHF antennas, based on improved radiation pattern and low loss materials. The FlexiRay SF antennas with gain of 5,5 dBic were designed to address the needs for ultra slim profile antennas with sufficient gain achieving longer read ranges, as well as providing greater flexibility in more demanding RFID environments. By achieving read range 4-7 m (tested with Alien and Impinj reader 30 dBm, 4 m RG-58 cable, Alien Squiggle tag) the antennas can be very good esthetic and cost effective option for interior / indoor RFID portals and reading zones in entrances, gates, doors and corridors for people time attendance, access control, asset tracking, library, retail, IT & datacenters applications. Further more the 2 mm slim profile of SF antennas allows invisible installations, embedding into door-frame, RFID portals, lifts, kiosks, fitting rooms, smart displays, thresholds or floor mats, simply making RFID tracking possible in any type of application across the verticals and industries. The FlexiRay SF-2.X thin antenna is supplied in three various lengths thus allowing optimal adaptation to specific installation. The antenna can be attached to any surface as well as on metal surfaces. FlexiRay SF provides flexible mounting capability by using double sided tape or screws. Antenna has circular polarization and is available for FCC and ETSI frequencies.
