December 4, 2012 – Savigent Software released Catalyst Incident Management, a Workflow-based system built on Savigent’s Catalyst Workflow. It is a collection of configurable workflows that operate in concert to manage incidents through a standard process, helping manufacturing organizations track, quantify, and establish baselines for incidents while providing real-time visibility into what is happening at the process level and enabling action to correct and optimize performance.

Catalyst Workflow is a part of Savigent’s expanding Catalyst suite of software products. Specifically, Catalyst Workflow delivers a controlled system for workflow automation, providing manufacturers with guaranteed compliance, unparalleled traceability and rich manufacturing intelligence.  Implementations of Catalyst Workflow have been completed for multiple customers in a variety of industries, including the food and beverage, contract manufacturing, semiconductor, aerospace and defense, and specialty chemical sectors.

“Incident Management provides some rigor and process around managing events that you don’t want to happen, but happen nonetheless,” says Jay Mellen, executive vice president of business development at Savigent. “It provides a repository of events and related information to support continuous improvement efforts. By providing the ability to automate around these events, Incident Management takes manufacturers from observation to action, from simply having data showing that an event occurred to having a managed response in place when it occurs.”

Michael Feldman, chief technology officer at Savigent remarked, “Incident Management’s ability to drive work to different groups of users by role, and to jump within a single workflow from person-to-person or group-to-group to execute a process, is unique functionality. The system orchestrates interactions by and between people automatically, people will see or not see tasks, depending on the hats they are wearing.”
