January 9, 2013 -- The Siwarex WP231 weighing module from Siemens Industry offers a high level of flexibility in industries where reliability and precision are crucial, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical.
The weighing module may be used as a standalone device or integrated into Siemens Simatic S7-1200 controller configured with the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal engineering platform. Its measuring abilities include a high resolution of one million parts and a measuring time of 10 milliseconds. Suitable for hazardous area operation, the Siwarex WP231 module performs silo level monitoring as well as weighing material in hoppers and on platform scales. Customizable limit values and connection parameters offer options for alarm management and process automation. Four onboard digital inputs and outputs are standard, including analog output (0/4-20 mA), Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP) and RS485 (Modbus RTU ) interfaces. The module also offers extensive diagnostic functionality, precisely monitors limit values and operating status and may be used in Ex-applications zone 2.
