March 27, 2012 - BCM updates MX270D mini-itx motherboard. The MX270D is now equipped with the 3rd generation Intel Atom 32nm D2700 desktop processor plus the Intel NM10 Express chipset. The D2700 carries dual core 2.13 GHz processing power on a mini-itx small form factor which provides better system stability. The D2700 processor also integrates the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 and 4GB DDR3 memory capability supporting superior HD-rich content and dual independent display capability with DVI, 18/24-bit LVDS and VGA ports. The upgraded memory feature provided by MX270D with its two So-DIMM sockets onboard support DDR3 memory modules up to 4GB offer a significant performance boost enabling greater system scalability. A key benchmark in changing to the D2700 processor was the ability of the MX270D to operate  fanless.  The  mini-itx motherboard still  uses the same onboard 12V DC power interface. Other features including six serial ports, seven USB ports (USB DOM supported), onboard LPT port, dual SATAII connector, one PCI slot, one Mini PCI Express slot and one onboard Compact Flash socket. The combination of the above features makes the MX270D a superior product in the value-performance category offering greater benefits for embedded computing applications.
