July 26, 2012 - FSG introduces MH 613 series of encoders with single-turn models that provide a 12 Bit resolution, while multi-turn versions cover 16 Bit. Available in synchro size 13, the encoders are optimized for use with other measuring devices from FSG, such as rope length transmitters, but can also be used as stand-alone units in a wide range of applications.
Closed on all sides and made from anodized aluminium, their housings ensure IP65 protection. Additionally, FSG provides versions with a salt spray resistant HART coat layer. With a 36.5 mm diameter, the encoders can be easily integrated into machines and plants with limited installation space. The contact-free measuring system is based on an integrated Hall sensor and instantly provides exact position values after activation, requiring no reference runs after power failure. The encoders are equipped with an analog 4-20 mA output and buttons at the back side that enable programming and signal adjustment. For safety-relevant applications, FSG offers redundant models according to IEC61508 SIL (e.g. Safety Integrity Level 2).
