March 26, 2012 - Rexroth announces IndraControl S20 real-time I/O System.with the Sercos automation bus. The system enables faster update times to less than 6 µs for 256 I/O; to a maximum of 13 µs for 1024 I/O. This leads to increased control quality, which is required for shorter cycle times and higher precision. IndraControl S20 ensures real-time data flow between control and peripherals. It connects fast sensors and actuators with the network via the system bus and the bus coupler. The system ensures constant cycle synchronization with the Sercos automation bus, an internationally accepted standard for Ethernet-based real-time communication. The I/O modules, which can be extended modularly, each require an update time of only 1µs. As a result, minimal update times can be achieved even in the maximum expansion stage with up to 63 I/O modules for each bus coupler. Process control has been improved because measurement results are detected and transmitted more quickly. This enables shorter cycle times and higher precision. The IndraControl S20 System is designed for robust operation and has been tested in extensive continuous shock tests. Adjustable filter times improve electromagnetic compatibility, plus reduced radiation safeguards long-term investment. The tool-free cable assembly simplifies wiring and maintenance. In case of error the user can simply disconnect the plug and replace the electronic module.
