April 11, 2011 – Siemens Industry Automation Division expanded their Simatic Ident portfolio of industrial identification solutions by adding three products with IP67 protection, including Simatic RF210R, RF220R and RF260R. Available for use with all Siemens ISO 15693 transponders, these readers are designed for applications in intralogistics and assembly lines where low to mid-performance range is necessary. The two compact readers RF210R and RF220R are perfect for short read/write ranges of up to 20 mm and 30 mm. With a cylindrical design and thread diameters of 18 mm and 30 mm respectively, each having an approximate length of 70 mm. The RF260R reader features a rectangular design of 75 mm x 75 mm x 40 mm, and suitable for read/write ranges up to 130 mm. The three readers comprising the Simatic RF200 system are optimal for assembly and handling systems, or for assembly lines for the identification of workpiece carriers. The new readers are also suitable for material handling systems including electric monorail systems, automatic guided vehicles, or palletizing systems where the transponders are attached to the products or pallets.
