May 2, 2010 - With the MH212 family, Bachmann electronic adds a high-performance CPU family for the M1 automation system. Equipped with fast DualCore processors, gigabit Ethernet and process image controllers (PIC), this opens up a new dimension for automation. Latest generation Intel Pentium processors, prepared for clock speeds of up to 1.86 GHz, ensure that even complex data are processed quickly. Together with communications via the two standard gigabit Ethernet ports, even large plants with complex protocols can be networked without straining the process control system. This helps to avoid overload situations, enables minimal latency times and provides stable and secure communications at the highest level. The new process image controller accepts a list of cyclic I/O data from the application programs together with their time requirements, and then makes this information available directly, without placing any load on the central processor. This allows the user to integrate the inputs/outputs into the application with maximum data signaling rates. Two gigabyte DRAM working memories and two slots for CF cards also allow very large applications and data management concepts.
