October 13, 2010 – Dytran Instruments released 3221C serie charge mode accelerometers for high temperature vibration measurements of small structures. The 3221C series are hermetically sealed using laser welds and a ceramic-to-metal sealed connector, as well as base-isolated to avoid annoying ground loop interference. Offered with a high charge output (available in 5pC/g and 10pC/g sensitivities), the 3221C series contain a piezoceramic annular shear mode accelerometer element mounted in a stainless steel housing. This type of sensing element is used in order to achieve the high resonant frequency that the 3221C exhibits (>40 kHz). These miniature accelerometers utilize a 10-32 radial connector and a through-hole mount which allows for the sensor to be turned 360 degrees prior to securing, aiding the user during sensor installation. They are mounted with a model 6297 mounting screw (supplied). When operating the 3221C Dytran recommends the use of either the 6013A or 6019A low noise coaxial cable assemblies. Priced at $795.
