March 8, 2009 - Copley Controls announces Bantam analog amplifier module for torque control of brushless and brush motors. Available in two current ratings, the 500 W Bantam has a tiny footprint of only 3.8 square inches. PCB-mounted with solderless connectors, the Bantam is a highly cost-effective OEM solution for multi-axis systems. The amplifier accepts a standard ±10V current command from an external controller. Other analog control inputs are available to set current limits and adjust balance. Digital I/O includes overtravel limits, HI/LO motor inductance range selection, amplifier status and brake control. A digital Hall interface is provided for trapezoidal commutation of brushless motors. For easy startup, a Development Kit is available for convenient mounting and connectivity.
