Honeywell introduces compact variable frequency drives
June 28, 2009 Honeywell introduced compact variable frequency drives (VFDs), which can deliver significant energy savings by controlling pumps or fans in commercial heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment. With Honeywell compact VFDs, customers can select the specific capabilities they need without paying extra for unnecessary features.Honeywell compact VFDs are micro drivesamong the smallest, most streamlined available. This saves valuable space in HVAC controls equipment cabinets. Honeywell compact VFDs come with essential features, including a standard PI Controller and the ability to program without the need for line voltage. Selectable options include interface, filter, enclosure, inputs, and outputs. Other benefits and key features include:
Easy commissioning with intuitive user interface, PID controller and the ability to program without a standard power supply.
Easy installation due to small and streamlined size, DIN rail or screw mounting, and side-by-side mounting flexibility.
Easy communication with up to seven programming control inputs, up to three programmable control outputs and several fieldbus options. Most VFDs are loaded with more features (and cost) than each application warrants, said Dave Molin, general manager, Honeywell Building Control Systems. Compact VFDs help customers hold down their installed costs while they tap into the significant energy savings VFDs can deliver.Honeywell Environmental & Combustion Control is part of the Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions business group, providing integrated product solutions in heating and heating processes, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration, air filtration, zoning, humidification, air conditioning, water controls and processes, electrical devices and systems, lighting control, buildings controls, switches, sensors and controllers. ECCs technologies are found in more than 150 million homes, 10 million buildings, and a multitude of manufacturing plants around the world.
