December 11, 2008 - ACS Motion Control enhanced its motion control software to support its new motion controller products. Designated Application Development Kit (ADK) v6.5, the advanced software supports all ACS motion control products including the new SPiiPlus 3U-HP, SPiiPlus LF, MC4U, and the LDM 3U linear drive. The ADK v6.5 software also provides EnDat and Smart-Abs absolute encoder support through the new HSSI-HES extension card. In addition, the ADK v6.5 motion control software provides 2-phase step motor support in open loop (microstep mode) or true closed loop control, as well as 2-phase DC brushless motor support in closed loop. The software also supports CANopen certified servo drives and I/O modules. The enhanced ADK v6.5 software features additional bi-quad filters, disturbance rejection algorithm (DRA) and extended analog outputs to further maximize the servo performance of the SpiiPlus line of motion controllers. The ADK v6.5 software includes simulation and motion machine interface (MMI) tools to minimize setup, tuning and programming time for motion control applications. The simulator tool models an ideal closed loop servo system, allowing users to logically develop multi-axis controller programs in a PC environment without motion control hardware, improving time-to-market. The motion simulator allows for simultaneous application development by multiple users, full simulation of all fault conditions, and reduce project development time by as several weeks. The simulator also includes MMI functionality, which provides program and motion management, configuration, system analysis, servo tuning, programming, parameter viewing, I/O monitoring, and safety tools. The ADK software supports stand-alone application programming or host-dependant application programming with C++, C#, Visual Basic and LabView. ACS' advanced software can support 8 axes of demanding, full digital control ACS' software also enables multiprogramming, up to 10 programs can execute simultaneously. Programming can be accomplished using any of the five IEC61131-3 languages in addition to ACSPL+. The advanced ADK v6.5 software provides fully variable mapping that enables flexible bi-directional interfacing, mutual synchronization, and functionality exchange between ACSPL+ and IEC 61131-3 programs.
