ADLINK introduces PCIe-FIW64 embedded frame grabber

December 18, 2008 – ADLINK Technology, Inc. (TAIEX:6166) announces the release of the PCIe-FIW64, a full performance 4-CH PCI Express frame grabber via PCIe x 4 bus. The PCIe-FIW64 provides four IEEE 1394b (FireWire 800) ports for multiple IEEE 1394b cameras and supports total data transfer rates up to 3.2 Gbps. The PCIe-FIW64 and includes isolated/O & triggering. It is a complete hardware solution for applications such as machine vision, product inspection and for scientific and laboratory products.The PCIe-FIW64 supports power over cable which allows 1394.b-based cameras to draw power directly through the board and thus reduce wiring. LEDs are located on the front panel to conveniently display the status of each channel. 8 isolated digital I/Os and 8 isolated programmable triggers are also provided—the digital I/Os can be used to connect to external devices, (e.g. position sensors) and the programmable trigger output pulses can be used to manage trigger events such as activating strobe lighting. The PCIe-FIW64 further provides dedicated electrostatic discharge protection circuitry to ensure a stable and reliable operation.The PCIe-FIW64 is currently available and is priced at $385 in single quantity with OEM and quantity pricing available
