Ethernet Direct releases IRE-500EC ring switch for Modbus over TCP

November 13, 2008 – Ethernet Direct releases IRE-500EC Industrial 5-port Ethernet Switch, with extended temperature, conformal coating technology and supporting Modbus over TCP.To address the need of a Real-Time Redundant Ring Switch to work under extreme environmental conditions, Iguana series IRE-500EC is especially designed with shielded Ethernet port connectors to offer a high reliability Ethernet environment for industrial control and automation. It comes ready with conformal coating and extended temperature of -40 to +80 degrees C. In addition, its IRE-500EC provides two power inputs that can be connected simultaneously to live DC power sources. If one of the power inputs fails, the other live source acts as a backup to automatically and the relay output facility can deliver warning signal while dual power or network link failure. Apart from Ethernet technology, IRE-500EC supports Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU and OPC protocols to provide majority of applications with a seamless process. In SCADA applications, it can monitor the status of Ethernet and fiber port with Modbus or OPC protocol.
