October 16, 2008 — ICONICS announced the latest version of its Hyper Historian plant historian, Version 10.5. ICONICS Hyper Historian is a 64-bit, robust, reliable, high-speed plant historian. Designed from the ground up for mission-critical applications demanding the highest level of availability, Hyper Historian delivers unparalleled performance while consuming only a small amount of resources. Hyper Historian is also the first plant historian to be certified for both Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. In addition, BizViz Manufacturing Intelligence customers can leverage the Hyper Historian’s SQL Query Interface to generate insightful reports and intelligent workflows based on their historical data. A new Statistical Process Control (SPC) capability, enhanced redundancy and tight integration with SQL Server 2008 make this a “best-in-class” historian for the most demanding applications. With data logging rates now up to 100,000 data events per second, Hyper Historian V10.5 uses a robust, 64-bit, swinging door algorithm for high data compression, to go along with its extreme high-speed data collection for real-time, enterprise-wide information. Additional benefits to ICONICS’ plant historian software include:
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) Capability
- Enhanced Redundancy, Data Logging, Monitoring & Management
- Audit Trail Capability for Regulated Industries
- 3D Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)/XAML Trend Chart Control
- Web Configuration - allows for exporting data to an Excel/CSV file
- Integration with SQL Query Language
- Performance Calculations
- Improved Use of Multi-core CPUs by the Hyper Historian Logger
- Support for E-Signature (force signature and comment before accepting changes) “Hyper Historian continues to set the bar for plant historian software,” said Dave Oravetz, Vice President of Engineering at ICONICS. “The inclusion of Statistical Process Control capability and multiple performance enhancements helps meet our most demanding customers’ needs.” “The plant historian is an important tool for operational excellence,” said Craig Resnick, Research Director at ARC Advisory Group. “It is used to historize and trend current operations, correlate current performance to “Best Day” performance for benchmarking and, through correlation, identify leading indicators for maintenance, environmental and safety events. However, for a historian to achieve a claim of 100,000 data tags per second’ would only be possible if the software can seamlessly integrate with today’s 64-bit computing machinery, a capability that Hyper Historian V10.5 appears to be able to achieve. In the future, all plant historians will require this functionality to be able to perform deep historization with slices of contextual data in order to recreate situations.” ICONICS solutions are widely recognized in the industrial automation software marketplace. Used in a wide variety of applications worldwide, ICONICS’ GENESIS64, GENESIS32 and BizViz products are recognized for their graphical capabilities and seamless integration with Microsoft operating systems and applications, bridging information from “the shop floor to the top floor.” ICONICS has provided award-winning industrial automation and Manufacturing Intelligence software for over 22 years, successfully deploying more than 225,000 solutions worldwide.
