METTLER TOLEDO introduces XP56 microbalance

November 2, 2008 - XP56 microbalance tackles a typical problem of development and quality-control labs: With its minimum sample size and simple sample transfer procedure directly to a large tare container, the XP56 considerably reduces the use of expensive control substances. Control substances are particularly valuable materials. Their uses include calibration of analysis equipment for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or gas chromatography (GC). A reduction in the use of control substances leads directly to considerable cost savings. At the same time, however, the sample quantity to be weighed must be greater than the defined minimum weight– a typical challenge for development and quality control labs. Thanks to innovations such as ErgoClips for pistons and the MinWeigh door – a special draft shield door for very small samples – samples can be dispensed directly into larger tare containers, such as volumetric flasks. This extraordinary solution eliminates transfer errors and contributes to impressively fast sample preparation. In addition, the excellent weighing performance of the XP56 makes it possible to weigh samples in the 2–8 mg range, while also fulfilling the minimum weight criteria according to the USP (United States Pharmacopeia).
