SCHAUMBURG, IL (May 1, 2008) Omron Electronics solved the problem of how to get high-precision analog control on a PLC that is comparable to standalone systems and dedicated devices. The new 4-point universal analog input module CJ1W-PH41U introduces the industrys first PLC-based analog input module with temperature resolution to 0.001 degree Celsius. The module for Omron's compact CJ-Series modular PLC accepts 28 different types of inputs, simplifying inventory control and maintenance. Conversion speeds of 5ms are possible and are set automatically based on the selected resolution to simplify setup. The inputs are isolated to prevent unwanted current paths that can interfere with data integrity. The Present Value (PV) can be scaled in any industrial units and is automatically calculated in the module. Offset compensation is possible for adjusting to process value errors. Rate-of-change calculation can be set from 1 to 16 seconds, allowing even a small rate of change to be detected. Peak and bottom detection detect the maximum and minimum values. Other built-in features are: Alarm hysteresis, Mean value Processing and Alarm on-delay setting. The selection of input type can be set separately for each of the four inputs. Universal inputs offer 28 different process input choices from: Resistance thermometer: Pt100 (JIS, IEC 3-wire), JPt100 (3-wire), Pt1000, (3-wire), Pt100 (JIS, IEC 4-wire), Thermocouple: K, J, T, E, L, U, N, R, S, B, WRe5-26, PLII, Current: 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, Voltage: 1 to 5 V, 0 to 1.25 V, 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, -100 to 100 mV, -1.25 to 1.25 V, -5 to 5 V, -10 to 10 V, Potentiometer.
