UEI releases UEISIM series I/O Cube

Walpole, MA - February 5, 2008 - United Electronic Industries (UEI) released UEISIM series I/O. The UEISIM offers Simulink users a new, powerful and flexible I/O target. Models built in Simulink are deployed directly on the UEISIM using The Mathworks’ Real-Time Workshop.Once programmed, the UEISIM may operate stand alone, or may be continuously monitored by a host computer over the Cube’s Ethernet port. This offers the Simulink user a powerful new tool for the creation and tuning of a wide variety of applications, including simulation model verification, rapid prototyping, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. The UEISIM 300 allows the installation of up to 3 I/O boards. The UEISIM 600 is slightly larger at 4” x 4.1” x 5.8” and allows the installation of up to 6 I/O boards (containing up to 150 analog inputs or 288 DIO). The I/O boards installed are determined by the user’s application. There are currently over 30 different I/O boards available including analog input, analog output, digital I/O, counter/Timer, quadrature Encoder, serial I/O, CAN bus and ARINC-429 interfaces. “The UEISIM is an ideal solution for Simulink users who need to test their simulations on real hardware,” according to UEI President Shaun Miller, “It's a great tool in R&D applications, and an excellent choice for production systems once an application has been completed.” PricingUEISIM 300 - $1995 - Available nowUEISIM 600 - $12295 - Available nowAbout UEIFounded in 1990, UEI is a leader in the computer based data acquisition and control industry. Serving customers world-wide, UEI products based upon PCI, PXI, ISA and Ethernet interfaces offer unequaled performance as well as flexibility. We are committed to providing the highest quality hardware, software and services, enabling engineers and scientists to interface data-acquisition and control hardware to the real world. Through our state-of-the-art technologies we serve the needs of individual researchers and developers as well as OEMs.About SimulinkSimulink from the Mathworks is a popular environment for simulation and Model-Based Design. It provides an interactive graphical environment and a customizable set of block libraries that let users design, simulate, implement, and test a variety of time-varying systems. Add-on products such as the UEISIM extend Simulink software to multiple modeling domains, as well as provide tools for design, implementation, and verification and validation tasks. Simulink is integrated with MATLAB, providing immediate access to an extensive range of tools that let you develop algorithms, analyze and visualize simulations, create batch processing scripts, customize the modeling environment, and define signal, parameter, and test data.
