BEI introduces ES Sealed Encoders

July 6, 2007 - BEI introduces the ES encoder series, a new line of environmentally sealed encoders designed specifically for harsh industrial applications. Through the use of a magnetic hub, these rugged incremental encoders are completely enclosed and sealed. The hub is installed on the equipment’s mating shaft, leaving a small air gap between it and the encoder. This isolates the encoder from high shock and vibration and makes them highly tolerant of shaft misalignment, meaning no more broken couplings! With an amazing IP67 rating, the ES encoder series are completely protected from environmental fluids, dust, dirt, grime, and even water immersions. Environmentally sealed encoders are ideal for applications with heavy wash-downs, temporary water immersions, and excessive shock, vibration or environmental debris. The ES series combines accuracy, repeatability and robustness needed for use in harsh environments and can help reduce costly downtime of your system. BEI Industrial Encoders (IED) is an operation of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST). IED manufactures optical encoders and associated electronics for the industrial market. IED is the market-leading brand of encoders in North America. www.beiied.comAbout Custom Sensors & TechnologiesHeadquartered in Moorpark, Calif., Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) is a business unit of Schneider Electric. CST was formed from the combination of Kavlico, Crouzet, Crydom and former divisions of BEI Technologies. CST provides sensors, controls and actuation products to the industrial, transportation, and military and aerospace markets. About Schneider Electric Schneider Electric is the world’s power and control specialist. Through its world-class brands, Merlin Gerin, Square D and Telemecanique, Schneider Electric anticipates and satisfies its customers’ requirements in the residential, building, industry and energy and infrastructure markets.
