SICK STEGMANN introduces DKV 60 wheel encoder

August 15, 2007 - DAYTON, OH – SICK STEGMANN, INC. introduces the DKV 60 Incremental Measuring Wheel Encoder. The DKV 60 is designed to provide highly reliable speed and position feedback in conveyor belt applications. Its versatility and rugged performance also make it an attractive feedback option in woodworking machinery, storage and conveying, sorting systems, textile machinery, and printing and paper applications, among others. The DKV 60 features IP65 protection with an extremely robust and space-saving design that is resistant to high levels of shock and vibration. A number of options are available to suit specific application needs, including an extended length 1.5 m cable outlet, a “knurled” or “O” ring surface measuring drum, and TTL/RS422 or HTL/push-pull interface options. The heart of the DKV 60 is the innovative Mini-Disc (MiDi) technology. This very small code disc includes a track radius of just 2 mm, permitting integral (full) scanning of the entire code disc and thus eliminating eccentricity errors of the code disk, ball bearings and shaft common to conventional systems. SICK STEGMANN, INC. is a wholly owned subsidiary of SICK AG in Waldkirch, Germany. SICK|STEGMANN is a world leader in the design and manufacture of incremental, absolute and linear encoders, as well as motor feedback systems.
