October 14, 2007 - A gas analyzer from Siemens Automation and Drives detects the concentration of hydrogen and inert gases in corrosive gases. The Calomat 62 analyzer measures gas components such as H2, N2, Cl2, HCl or NH3 in binary or pseudo-binary mixes. It is therefore suitable for measuring tasks such as those found in chlorine-alkali electrolysis, steel production and processing, ammonia synthesis, fertilizer production, and also in LNG (liquefied natural gas) plants. The Calomat 62 supplements the Calomat 6 gas analyzer, which is the counterpart for measuring non-corrosive gases.Calomat 6 and 62 are both available in a compact 19" housing and in a purgeable, rugged IP65 field housing with gas-proofed separation of the electronic section and the analysis section. Both devices offer internal and external correction of the effects of interfering gases. For fast and simple maintenance, the analyzers communicate over TCP/IP Ethernet with the Siprom GA software tool. The Profibus DP or Profibus PA interfaces offer access to TIA (Totally Integrated Automation), the comprehensive, integrated range of products and systems for implementing customized automation solutions in all sectors.
