NEWBURYPORT, MA - October 30, 2007 - Softing has added two new PROFIBUS interface boards to its line of PROFIBUS products.

  • Dual channel PROFIBUS PCI board: This PCI board can be configured to run in dual master or mixed mode (1 channel as master, 1 channel as slave). The board is a Universal PCI board that operates with 5 V signal levels of traditional PCs and with 3.3 V signals used primarily in modern server PCs.
  • Single channel PC/104plus: This PC/104 board is particularly suited for use in compact industrial computer systems. It can be configured to run in master or slave mode. The board is fully compatible with the Universal PCI interface standards. In addition, the board provides a (passive) ISA interface to support legacy PC/104 boards. Softing’s PROFIBUS boards are globally used in a wide range of applications including compact slave solutions, solutions for mobile devices, operation and visualization terminals, real-time machine controls, and extended temperature-range applications.Softing's protocol software is designed to support the following protocols:
  • PROFIBUS DP-V0
  • PROFIBUS DP-V1
  • PROFIBUS DP-V2
  • PROFIBUS FMS
  • PROFIBUS FDL
