TAIPEI, Taiwan May 5, 2007 - Artila Electronics announced the ARM9-based, Linux-ready industrial box computer -- the Matrix-520. The fanless ARM9 RISC CPU and strong metal case design make Matrix-520 ideal for the industrial applications which need a powerful and reliable front-end controller.The Matrix-520, powered by a 180MHz ATMEL ARM9 RISC CPU, comes with onboard 32MB SDRAM and 16MB Flash memory which has Linux 2.6 kernel, busybox utility and boa web server per-installed. In addition, Matrix 520 also integrated two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, eight high speed serial ports, two USB host, one audio output port and 21 programmable digital I/O into a 160x104x38.5 mm metal box. A 144x32 dot matrix LCD module provides 18x2 English text display for human and machine interface. Using the DIN RAIL mounting kit, Matrix-520 can be easily wall mounted or DIN Rail mounted.The Linux operating system provides the Matrix 520 user an open and powerful developing platform. The Linux inside Matrix 520 includes latest Linux kernel version 2.6, journaling flash file system (JFFS2), the handy busybox utility collection, secure network utility such as SSH, SCP and the popular boa web server. This Linux package provides every thing you need for many embedded applications.Matrix 520 is shipped with GNU tool chain which includes C/C++ cross compiler and Glibc. With this tool chain, users can develop their application software at an X86-based computer and download and run their application software on the Matrix 520.
