November 6, 2006 - Germantown, WI - WAGO re-launched its 773-Ex e Series of compact junction box connectors for use in hazardous locations at the recent ISA show in Houston, TX. This product is an expansion of the already popular WALL-NUTS product line - a push-wire replacement of twist type connectors for the electrical contractor market. With this product, WAGO Corporation is the first company to offer a hazardous location approved push-wire connector specifically designed for use in conduit fittings, outlet bodies, and other small junction box types. The 773 Ex e series was designed to meet the increased demands for a simple, low-cost push wire connector for hazardous location applications, explains Jim Bachle, Electrical Products Manager for WAGO. We focused our development efforts to provide customers with a connector solution that offers endless flexibility in the combination of connector configurations, mounting options, as well as wire sizes--all while reducing wiring time by almost half. The 773 Ex e Series is available in 2, 4, 6 and 8 conductor versions rated for 12-18 AWG solid and 12-16 AWG stranded copper wire, with electrical ratings up to 600V/20A. An additional, 3-conductor version is available for applications requiring 10-14 AWG solid/stranded copper wire and up to 600V/30A. Once wired with a simple push-in operation, the connectors must be snapped into a mounting carrier, part number 773-331, that can be either chassis or DIN rail mounted. The mounting carrier is an integral part in achieving hazardous location approval and is capable of accepting a wide variety of connector configurations, example - two 4 conductor, one 2 conductor, and one 6 conductor connector in a single carrier. Furthermore, the product is approved for use in Class I, Zone 1 and 2 hazardous locations according to the ATEX and UL Ex (for both US and Canada) standards. Additional features of this wiring system include; spring pressure wiring technology for easy, fast, and maintenance-free wiring, built-in test point for simple troubleshooting, up to 16 connection points in area less than 2.75 long and 0.75 wide, and a touch safe wiring environment. The product is currently available from stock. WAGO is the worldwide leader in spring pressure connection technology designed to eliminate loose wires as a result of vibration and temperature cycling, as well as provide a highly reliable, corrosion resistant, and maintenance-free connection. Our complete line of spring pressure connection products include DIN rail mount terminal blocks, chassis mount terminal blocks, PCB mount terminal blocks, relays, signal conditioners, power supplies, surge suppressors, the WAGO I/O SYSTEM and more.
