Banner Engineering Introduces Infrared Temperature Sensor

—April 19, 2006—Banner Engineering announces the addition of the M18T analog output model to its line of T-GAGE® infrared temperature gauging sensors. The M18T senses whether the object is warmer or colder than its surrounding—even when the difference is only 3° C and even if the object is stationary. The self-contained sensor requires no controller to operate, and its TEACH function allows the user to program two distinct temperature switchpoints for an output that automatically scales over a positive or negative slope. The M18T features an 18 mm stainless-steel barrel construction with fully encapsulated electronics rated IP67 for reliable operation—even in harsh sensing environments. It is ideal for a variety of applications such as monitoring surface temperature; forewarning of overheating parts; and verifying cooking, curing and surface temperatures.

  • Delivers fast response time of 75 milliseconds
  • Features a detection spot size of 7 to 167 mm
  • Available with static and dynamic remote TEACH
  • Includes two highly visible LEDs for Power ON/OFF, TEACH and Alarm output status
  • Available with 6:1, 8:1, or 14:1 distance-to-spot size ratio (D:S ratio)
  • Includes a 0 to 10V dc analog and PNP alarm output
  • Provides option of changing analog slope direction from positive to negative or negative to positive
  • Offers a choice of integrated lens for general purpose use, enclosed plastic face for food applications and germanium lens for narrow field of view
  • Operates on 12 to 30V dc
  • Includes 2 m or 9 m unterminated cable, or 5-pin Euro-style QD
