Fuji Contactors and Overload Relays The DUO line of components are fully integrated and can be used to build a conventional contactor/ overload starter, or the Fuji manual motor starter (MMS) can be combined with an SC-E series contactor for a combination starter. Since the MMS is UL listed for Category E self-protected motor control, it can be used for motor branch circuit protection without the need for additional protection such as fuses or molded case circuit breakers. AutomationDirect offers the MMS in a 32-Amp version with a 45 mm frame width and a 63-Amp version with a 55 mm frame width. Both MMS versions have high breaking capacities, up to 100,000 Amps in some ranges. The MMS combination starters can accommodate motors up to 40 horsepower at 480 VAC. The conventional starters in the DUO line can accommodate motors up to 100 horsepower at 480 VAC.The larger contactors feature the Super Magnet™ coil for greater reliability and positive pick-up and drop-out. The Super Magnet™ combines an integrated circuit with a conventional coil for superior performance. Drop-out and chattering is eliminated during high inrush start-ups.   • Maintenance and inspection safety has been improved by employing a finger protection mechanism to cover exposed terminals (conforms to DIN 57106, VDE 0106 Teil 100).
  • Isolated normally open and normally closed contacts can be used with different potentials.

Up to two contact blocks can be mounted to the right/ left front, and up to two contact blocks can be mounted to the left side.
  • Alarm contact blocks operate when the MMS trips due to overload, phase-loss, or short-circuit. It is not linked to the ON/ OFF operation of the MMS. An alarm is displayed in the contact block’s indicator when the alarm contact operates. NOTE: Operation can be checked with the test trip function.
  • Shunt trip and undervoltage trip devices A shunt trip device is used to remotely trip the MMS. An undervoltage trip device automatically trips the MMS when the control circuit voltage drops below the specified value. Shunt trip and undervoltage trip devices are available in a variety of operating coil voltage ranges.
  • Standard and emergency external handles are available. External operating handles for the MMS are used to operate the MMS mounted in the enclosure from the outside of the panel. An interlock mechanism prevents someone from mistakenly opening the panel door when the MMS is in the ON state (with a screw release). The shaft can be cut to match the distance between the MMS and the panel door.OFF lock function. Can be locked OFF with up to three padlocks.
  • Screw mount kit - Used only when DIN rail mounting is not used. Lugs push into the back of the MMS and provide a sturdy lug for direct panel mounting.
