New Ceraphant T is an electronic switch designed for absolute and gauge pressure measurement. New Thermophant T is an electronic switch designed for temperature measurement in gases, vapors, and liquids. Both switches allow for quick and safe process connections with unique adaptors covering all common process connections. These versatile “twin” switches were developed for the factory automation market for applications including: fluidics, poor filter detection, vacuum for pickup and transfer product, hydraulic accumulators, injection molding machines, press machines, automotive welding pressure, machine coolant, pump run dry, transmission systems, construction machinery, and fire-extinguishing systems. The switches have the capability to provide the functionality of an electronic switch (PNP output) and a transmitter (analog 4-20 mA) in a single, compact device; thus lowering installation costs. This is achieved with a single process connection. The design of the switches provides many benefits starting with a rugged stainless steel housing (AISI 316L) which provides resistance against chemical corrosion and mechanical abrasion. The Ceraphant T pressure switch, PTC31, includes a pure ceramic sensor diaphragm, named Ceraphire®, which is completely unique on the market. Ceraphire® sensor is comprised of 99.9% pure ceramic (AI2O3) and assures unmatched reliability and corrosion resistance for use in highly aggressive media. Ceraphire® provides the perfect solution to pressure measurement in vacuum applications due to its mechanical strength and long-term stability. Also unique is the backlit digital display that both switches feature. This display provides excellent readability and 14 segments for the following engineering units: bar, psi, MPa, kPa, °C, °F. An unexpected feature is that all units are converted automatically; this is unique to the market. The electronics used in the design of these twin switches were developed according to international standards IEC61508 / SIL2, which allow for the highest quality in operation.
