Keyence Announces World’s Smallest Digital Laser Optic Sensor

Just released, the new Keyence LV-S Series of Super-small Digital Laser Optic Sensors. The unique, proven miniaturization technique developed by Keyence has resulted in the design of the World’s smallest, high-performance laser sensors. The new LV-S41L Super-small Side-view Reflective, for example, is only 0.24” thick and 1.24” in length. It is small enough to fit even the tightest spaces on production lines. The entire LV-S Series includes 6 sensor head models: LV-S31 Adjustable Distance Reflective, LV-S41L Super-small Side-view Reflective, LV-S41 Super-small Reflective, LV-S61 Straight-beam Retro-reflective, LV-S71 Super-small Thrubeam, LV-S72 High-accuracy Gap Detection Thrubeam and the new LV-S11A Amplifier. All LV-S Sensor heads produce super-small, visible red beam spots ranging from 0.05" in diameter for the LV-S 41, 0.08” for the S31 and 0.10" for the S61 and S71… all at a detecting distance of 19.69" (500mm).Unique in the LV-S series is the Model LV-S41L, the World’s smallest Side-view Reflective Laser Sensor. Only 1.1" long and 0.24" thick", the LV-S41 with its side-beam emission design can be installed quickly and easily on any production line. Despite its small size, the new sensor has a built-in bright LED output indicator which provides immediate verification of correct beam alignment and sensor operation. Installation is further simplified by using an adjustable L-shaped bracket for mounting the sensor body from the front or rear side, depending on the desired beam direction. All LV-S Series Sensors operate with the new LV-11SA, the World’s smallest amplifier. It has a thickness of only 0.35". The LV-11SA features a dual digital display which simultaneously displays light intensity and setting values. The new amplifier offers 4 power modes: Fine, Turbo, Super and Ultra. It uses 16-bit calculation in all power modes for highly accurate detection. The LV Amplifier uses Keyence’s proven, easy-to-use, “One-Line” cable connection system.
