Yokogawa Introduces New CPUs for PLC Systems

Newnan, Georgia – Yokogawa is pleased to announce the release of five new CPUs for the FA-M3R family of Multi-Controller PLC systems. These new S-series CPUs significantly extend the product range capability of the FA-M3R in the areas of both performance and ease of use, enabling customers to use the FA-M3R in high-speed applications, and develop and maintain their programs more easily. The increased performance capabilities include new CPUs with a minimum instruction execution time of 0.07 microseconds, the fastest in the industry. Customers with applications that require a fast cycle time, most often found in material handling, assembly equipment, test stands, motion and vision control, will benefit from the ability to use the FA-M3R for both standard PLC logic control and high speed device control. This often eliminates the need for an additional specialized high-speed controller, or motion controller, to run the high speed devices, providing substantial savings for initial system cost and overall total cost of ownership. Additionally, all S-series CPUs (part numbers have an ‘S’ suffix) automatically store the customer’s program documentation (rung comments, I/O description and user tagnames) locally in CPU protected memory. This allows for much easier maintenance and program development not requiring the customer to have the program documentation loaded separately on their connected PC or laptop.
