DI is India's first and foremost Solutions Providers in the Integrated Fire and Gas Detection Systems space. Founded in 1988 as a joint-venture between Detection Instruments Group of England and Pradeep and Kishore Degwekar, the Company quickly acquired leadership position and continues to do so. Detection Instruments Group was acquired by Halma plc (revenues ~ US$1 billion) and merged with their Group Company Crowcon. The merged entity came to be known as Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd. DI-India has modern manufacturing facilities in Navi Mumbai which carry ISO-9001:2000 certification. DI-India have designed their own Analogue Addressable Fire Alarm Panel, Athena and Gas Controllers, Aretha. They manufacture some of Crowcon's controls in India under license from Crowcon. The integrated solutions use Gas Detectors from Crowcon, U.K.; Open Path and Flame Detectors from Spectrex, USA; Fire Detectors from Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd., U.K.;Fire Alarm Panels from NSC Sicherheit Gmbh, Germany; Control Systems from RTP Controls, USA. ICRA (A Moody's Company) have awarded the rating of SME2 to DI-India. Reliance Industries, Cairn Energy, ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, MRPL, L&T, Aditya Birla, Essar, Tata Power, BHEL, Kvaerner, Punj Lloyd ... etc. are some of the reputed references of DI-India's solutions. DI-India received an award of the Manufacturing Business of the Year - Medium for 2014 from Franchise India during the Small Business Congress held at Mumbai in November, 2014.
