April 15, 2016 - Phoenix Contact’s QUINT UPS-IQ 500 VA AC UPS has received UL 1778 Recognition. This industrial control cabinet AC uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is certified for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations.
This AC UPS uses Phoenix Contact’s proven IQ technology to increase system reliability. The rail-mounted UPS monitors a scalable battery solution and provides the user with critical operating data. The batteries range from 1.3 to 38 Ah lead acid and include a lithium-ion 120 Wh version. Each of the batteries has an individual UL Listing for CID2 hazardous locations. The UL category code is “YEEU2,” and the Phoenix Contact UL file number is E359066.
The intelligent battery modules used in the QUINT IQ system will answer common reliability questions such as: Is the battery fully charged? How long will the battery backup last? Does the battery need replacement? Can the aging battery still supply the proper amount of energy?
The IQ technology manages the battery status and displays all of the relevant data on the UPS’s front panel or transmits it to a computer using Modbus serial. As a result, the user always knows the charge state, remaining buffer time, and expected lifetime.
Other system features include assignable alarm contacts, PC shutdown and re-start, triggering e-mails, and event-logging.
