BW Container Systems promotes Richard Cranston to Managing Director

April 24, 2015 —BW Container Systems promoted Richard Cranston to Managing Director.  BW Container Systems, a division of Barry‐Wehmiller, designs and manufactures integrated packaging machinery solutions for the food, beer and beverage, container manufacturing, personal care, household and pharmaceutical industries. BW Container Systems technology can be found in 70 countries across the globe.

“Richard’s commitment to improving our flexibility, service and people-centric culture has strengthened our ability to provide solutions to our clients globally while continually promoting opportunities for our team members to grow,” stated Carlson,  president of BW.  “Through Richard’s guidance, our UK team has embraced new product lines, contributing to our global capacity sharing and the overall success of BW Container Systems.”

Cranston began his career with Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in 1998 and joined the BW Container Systems executive team in 2007 as Operations Director for its UK Operation.

“Richard’s steadfast leadership established a confident and trusting foundation for the team.  They have grown together to become one of our most consistent performers every year,” commented Mike Jerger, VP of Operations.

Cranston’s responsibilities across the EMEA region will include sales, aftermarket, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, project management and service.  BW Container Systems’ employs nearly 500 team members among five operations in Chicago; Denver; Lynchburg, Va.; Baltimore, Md.; and Doncaster, U.K.   Cranston will continue to be based out of the Doncaster facility.
