Flow-Cal to supply SemGas with gas measurement software

July 13, 2015 - SemGas selected Flow-Cal’s software suite as their corporate gas measurement solution. SemGas has chosen to implement Flow-Cal’s Client/Server version with TESTit and CALCit field products, providing field and office personnel with advanced tools for automation, equipment testing and verification, as well as gas flow measurement calculations.
SemGas, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is the United States segment of SemGroup Corporation that concentrates on the gathering and processing of natural gas. SemGas owns and operates more than 1,300 miles of gathering pipelines in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as four processing plants that have a combined capacity of approximately 388 million cubic feet per day.
SemGas is using FLOWCAL to acquire more accurate information in a timely manner by automating and streamlining several key processes. “We’ve gained a new level of confidence in our data since implementing FLOWCAL,” says Grover Clifton, SemGas measurement manager. “We’re now able to review our data more efficiently and resolve issues sooner. We can drill down to daily, hourly and even fifteen minute data for a more precise view to minimize errors.”
With FLOWCAL’s advanced validation filters, the software generates exceptions that are based on SemGas’ configuration and desired level of granularity. From a single screen, the exception resolver feature enables expedited analysis of suspect data with a hyperlink to quickly perform any edits, all while maintaining a full audit trail compliant with API standards.
“As their needs evolve and operations grow, SemGas can add more features to further automate and streamline their measurement processes,” said Duane Harris, Flow-Cal’s vice president of business development and support. “With plans already in place to expand SemGas’ system and infrastructure, FLOWCAL offers a flexible and scalable solution that will ultimately save on their bottom line.”
Flow-Cal’s suite of products provides operational efficiencies for companies by gathering, validating, storing and distributing their volume and energy data. The advanced data validation and editing features automate field data processing to produce quick, accurate and auditable results that meet or exceed all industry standards.
