Description

Belden will host its 2014 Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure (IEI) Design Seminar on Sept. 21-24, 2014, in Houston. The annual event enables those who design or maintain industrial Ethernet networks to gain valuable insights and hands-on experience for mission-critical Ethernet networking.

Taking into account the distinct requirements of industrial networks, the more than 20 presentations and ten hands-on labs offered through the IEI Design Seminar cover both introductory and advanced topics related to key areas of network design, isolation, redundancy and security. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the future of industrial Ethernet, and recommendations for dealing with the evolution of manufacturing and production networks.

New for 2014, Belden has included:
• An oil and gas-specific track that will cover cable selection, network security and industrial wireless.
• A track focused on industrial wireless, with three dedicated sessions and two hands-on labs.
• A session on “IT for Controls and Controls for IT.”

In addition to covering hot topics, such as wireless, cyber security and general Ethernet networking, many sessions will share examples from key industries, including automotive, petrochemical plants, oil and gas, wind farms and transportation.
