Paul Wurth Group turns to Prediktor's Apis Software to enhance data management

November 8, 2017 - The Paul Wurth Group (Paul Wurth), a designer and supplier of technological solutions for the primary stage of integrated steelmaking, has chosen Prediktor’s Apis Software platform as basis for their PW Cloud IOT-platform initiative. The overall objective of the delivery is to provide Paul Wurth with an advanced real-time data management and historian solution based on Apis.
In Paul Wurth’s process of Digital Transformation, one of the first priorities is to establish a central infrastructure capable of collecting and storing data from all Paul Wurth products, enabling the creation of new services for their current and future customers.
The most prominent of these new services will include:
- Process support and optimization
- Equipment troubleshooting
- Predictive analytics for maintenance and process
Investigation and benchmarking of commercial and open source data historian systems was critical in determining a core aspect of the digital infrastructure. This data historian will be responsible for collection and dissemination of a large amount of time series data from equipment, process, and operational events. Prediktor’s APIS platform was selected among multiple competitors for the following reasons:
- Scalability potential
- Replication abilities
- Standards based approach (OPC UA)
- Price/Performance ratio
- European origin
- A solid customer-driven approach
“Being confident that Prediktor APIS is the ideal solution for our industry, we are happy to announce our participation as a certified Value Added Reseller for Prediktor APIS products,” states Fabrice Hansen, Head of digital transformation at Paul Wurth.
