April 23, 2015 - Bosch Rexroth published a full-color, 35-page brochure detailing system considerations for injection molding, blow molding, and die casting machines. The brochure contains information on drive, control, and automation technology; simulation and system configuration; innovative Rexroth products; service and training options, and more.
The “Efficient automation solutions for plastics and die casting machines” brochure provides detailed explanations for machine considerations, along with information about Rexroth’s expertise and components to help plastics equipment manufacturers improve their systems’ energy efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
Rexroth’s innovative technology covers hydraulic, electric, or hybrid drives, standardized interfaces, and software tools that simplify startup and support modular machine concepts. Information in the brochure includes:
Sytronix variable-speed pump drives for hydraulic applications
Sytronix variable-speed pump drives include a wide range of pumps, motors and controllers with preprogrammed software from a single provider. Sytronix systems offer the reliability of hydraulic systems and the energy efficiency and dynamics of compact electronics. The Sytronix Selection Guide included in the brochure helps equipment manufacturers determine which Sytronix drive best meets their needs depending on their system requirements and desired output.
Control technology for electric and hydraulic drives
Plastics machinery manufacturers will benefit from Rexroth’s IndraMotion MLC motion logic control platform, which combines an IEC 61131-3 compliant open PLC with a powerful motion controller for electric and hydraulic drives. Real-time communication via the Ethernet-based Sercos automation bus supports centralized and decentralized automaton architectures, with interfaces for all current forms of Ethernet communication and field-buses. Rexroth software offers quicker engineering, best-in-class control, extensive diagnostic options, built-in safety and multi-touch operation.
Single- and multi-axis controllers with Open Core Engineering
Rexroth’s portfolio of scalable motion controllers offers options for both single-and multi-axis controllers that can be integrated seamlessly into machine design concepts. Rexroth’s Open Core Engineering (OCE) functionality also provides custom programming capabilities in high-level language on standard PLC hardware. Smartphones and tablets can now be integrated seamlessly, while engineering costs are reduced through open standards, software tools, and complete function packages.
Self-contained electrohydraulic servo axes
Self-contained, electrohydraulic servo axes combine the advantages of hydraulics with decentralized control. This plug-and-run solution for linear motion offers several benefits for plastics manufacturers, including easy engineering with pre-assembled systems, simple integration into the machine design, and energy efficiency with the use of Sytronix variable-speed pump drives.
Simulation, planning and configurators
Simulation programs help plastics equipment manufacturers optimize their machines. Rexroth offers consulting, component knowledge, system experience and a solid basis for machine simulations. In addition, Rexroth configurators allow you to configure quickly, easily and directly online.
Product portfolio, service and training
The brochure also includes an overview of Rexroth’s extensive portfolio of hydraulic components, filters, electromechanical drives, and software - including the Fit4Filter app which lets you quickly select the right filter elements from a smartphone or tablet. In addition to a wide range of products and expertise, Rexroth offers basic and advanced training in all drive and control technologies—either on-site or online—as well as tailored solutions to help customers in the plastics industry.
