By the end of the course, the delegates will be able to:
• List and recognize the importance of MV and HV switchgears namely the circuit breakers, disconnectors, contactors and earth switches
• Locate and describe the auto recloser, types of currents situations and the fault clearing process
• Explain the operation and identify components of the SF6 circuit breaker
• Explain the operation and identify components of the VCB
• Recognise the importance of maintenance and testing of MV and HV switchgears
• Differentiate between the various types of relay and protection
• Demonstrate the importance of working safely
• Describe the key components of a power transformer
