exida announces ARCHx engineering tool

May 10, 2019 -  exida announces its release of the ARCHx engineering tool, which allows designers and independent evaluators to analyze high level computer system design architectures for safety, availability, and cybersecurity.

Used to perform FMEA, Software FMEA/HAZOP, DFA, and cybersecurity threat analysis, the ARCHx has embedded knowledge about likely system level problems which detects design issues.

The ARCHx system is comprised of the operating engine and several knowledge base plug-ins for specific technologies. The tool is used to guide architecture design reviews, both during the initial architecture design, when the basic design decisions are being made, but also for existing designs.

This framework will allow users to document strengths, discover potential weaknesses, and document incremental improvements needed for systems, especially those being considered for safety or cybersecurity certification.
