Cambashi announces launch of Industrial IoT Charter Program

March 25, 2019 – Cambashi, a global industry analyst and market consulting firm, announced that the industry-led IoT Charter Program is delivering valuable results in defining the industrial IoT market and providing quantitative and qualitative market data.
The founder members of the Charter Program are IoT software providers and innovators who have been involved in shaping and driving this market. They are working with Cambashi to steer and refine Cambashi’s Market Observatories, fine-tune the market segmentation model and prioritize the research agenda. Members obtain early access to the global IoT Observatory to guide sales and marketing planning. They also share industrial IoT industry issues, use case and business analyses.
The IoT Charter Program began as a result of a Cambashi study of the industrial IoT market in 2016, which concluded that there was not a reliable or authoritative source for segmentation, size or growth estimates. Further research resulted in a Cambashi report entitled “The Industrial Internet of Things and Digital Transformation; Market Landscape and Trends,” which was delivered in 2018 and served as the basis for Cambashi’s launch of the IoT Charter Program.
“Feedback from contributors to the research study strongly indicated that a forum was needed to define the market, main players and trends,” said Peter Thorne, CEO, Cambashi. “The report provided an industry perspective from both technical and commercial viewpoints. It suggested that an industry-led program was needed to further define the market, segmentation and key issues and then to measure the market with appropriate granularity,” he added.
The Charter has an initial focus on market segmentation, definition of key metrics and use case analysis, for Connected Applications in nine main Market Areas. These include Connected City, Connected Worker, Connected Building, Connected Construction, Connected Transportation, Connected Asset, Connected Project, Connected Infrastructure and Connected Supply Chain – all powered by the systems, tools and platforms that are driving digital transformation.
The quantitative outcome of the Charter Program will be an addition to the extensive range of Cambashi Market Observatories – multi-perspective datasets for the industrial and engineering software market– that will provide figures for market sizing and 3-year growth projections by application in nine target Market Areas and three global geographies. Future releases will provide the ‘industry’ dimension and further geographic granularity.
The qualitative outcome will be a series of messages, seminars, white papers and workshops to support marketing and on-line training modules to help explain the technology and industry positioning.
