MTS Sensors-Floatless Sensors Provide Low Cost Fluid Level Measurement in Automotive Applications

New SEF technology can be shaped to linearize the volume output in water, coolant and oil level tanks with non-uniform, irregular cross sectional areas as the level rises. They can also be shaped to fit into serpentine paths. Though current sensor models are flat, roughly in the shape of a small ruler, round models are possible. In plastic tanks, non-invasive external mounting is also possible.
This patent pending level sensing technology is intended for designers of automotive, marine, agricultural and recreational fluid systems (oil, fuel, coolants, water), medical systems (medications, therapy fluids), appliance control (water levels), food and drink systems and others.
The sensors are designed for specific solutions in high volume applications only.
MTS is looking for new applications for this technology where development participation is possible.
