Phoenix Contact sees growth heading into HANNOVER MESSE

April 19, 2018 - With double-digit sales growth in 2017, Phoenix Contact has exceeded the two billion euro mark, achieving a turnover of 2.205 billion euro. At the same time, the number of employees increased to 16,500 personnel worldwide.

Acquisitions also contributed to growth, accounting for one percentage point. Four companies have been taken over in the past year from the field of network control and networking technologies.

The investment in IT infrastructure, machines and systems, as well as buildings, amounted to 180 million euro. An automated production building was established in Poland that has made flexible production on a single line possible.

In the course of 2018, a budget of 7 percent of turnover is available for research and development, predominantly looking into production technologies for the digital transformation and solutions for the markets of the future: energy, mobility and infrastructure. The investment figure is growing to around 250 million euro. Construction projects are planned for the headquarters in Blomberg, as well as a one hundred per cent expansion of logistics in the USA, which supplies the entire American continent, a second production and logistic site in Nanjing in China, and structural expansion of the subsidiary company Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH at their Scheider site.

At the Hanover Messe, starting on April 23, Phoenix Contact, the third largest of the around 6,000 exhibitors, will present itself as a partner company for those looking to take steps in Smart Factory manufacturing. The company will be showing its latest developments across more than 2,700 square meters. In total, Phoenix Contact is to be represented at twelve booths.
