Artila introduces Aport-212PG FreeRTOS Device Server

June 5, 2014 -- Artila Electronics introduces Aport-212PG programmable device server supporting FreeRTOS.

Aport-212PG is built with 32-bit NXP LPC1768 100MHz ARM Cortex M3 processor which is equipped with 64KB SRAM 512KB Flash, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and two RS-232/485 serial ports. Aport-212PG comes with FreeRTOS which is a Real Time OS and professionally developed, strictly quality controlled, robust, supported, and free to embed in commercial products.

Regarding TCP/IP protocol stack, Aport-212PG supports lwIP, network connection and BSD socket library which make programing flexible and easy. Tool chain which includes C program compiler and debug are available as a free download of Sourcery CodeBench Lite from Mentor website or COTS Keil from ARM.

A tiny web server is available in Aport-212PG and it is ready for customer’s web-based application. Example programs which demonstrate serial and Ethernet data communication, Web configuration and EEPROM read and write are available in Aport development kit. A Windows management utility for discovering and configuring Aport-212PG is also included. The customer’s application firmware which is compiled from customer’s C program and Web page can be downloaded to Aport-212PG by using the Aport management utility.

The low power ARM cortex M3 plus the high efficient FreeRTOS make Aport-212PG an ideal light weight computing platform for device networking and remote monitoring.
