Axiomtek announces NA345 network security appliance

November 15, 2016 - Axiomtek announced the unveiling its NA345, a network security appliance featuring the latest Intel Atom x5-E3930 processor up to 1.8 GHz (Apollo Lake) which is based on the Intel entry-level IoTG platform with 14 nm silicon process technology. Four gigabit Ethernet ports with Intel i211 controller are integrated into this unit with one pair supporting LAN bypass. The desktop network appliance supports one DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM slot with maximum of up to 8GB memory. For storage, it also provides one mSATA and 2.5” SATA hard disk drive. This slim type Intel Apollo Lake network appliance is an ideal solution for VPN, content filtering, UTM, network security gateway, and firewall.

The NA345 incorporated a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a serial console port, and an HDMI port. Internal PCI Express Mini Card socket enables the addition of Wi-Fi, 3G, or LTE wireless cards. Front-facing LED indicators are available for convenient monitoring of power, hard disk status, link activity with transfer rate, and LAN bypass. Moreover, to ensure operation, the NA345 supports watchdog timer. This desktop network communication platform is compatible with Win 10 and Linux (Yocto project).
