Data Translation releases DT7837 data acquisition system

February 112015

February 11, 2015 - Data Translation released DT7837 ARM-based data acquisition system

for noise, vibration and acoustic measurement applications and features high-accuracy 24-bit data acquisition technology. The module provides an ARM Cortex-A8 processor with 2 GB flash memory and interfaces for USB, Ethernet and RS232 as well as a SD card slot. Supporting autonomous operation, the DT7837 offers a compact and flexible solution for sound and vibration measurements.

Four 24-bit A/D inputs with software-programmable IEPE sensor support allow simultaneous sampling at 102.4 kS/s. The ultra-accurate, low-noise measurement data can be further processed on-board in real time. Key features also include a 24-bit analog output, a tachometer input, eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs, as well as counter/timers and various trigger functions. The module thus provides a versatile, full-featured embedded solution for noise, vibration and acoustic measurements. All functions are supported by user-friendly APIs that simplify the development of custom embedded applications.

The BeagleBone Black compatible computing platform with ARM Cortex-A8 processor and 2 GB NAND flash memory offers a wide range of connectivity options, such as an Ethernet interface, an USB client port for data transfer to the PC, and an USB host port for connecting storage devices, GSM or WiFi sticks. A SD card slot is also provided.

The computer comes with embedded Linux 3.12 and loadable kernel modules for the specific measurement features. A range of free compilers and development tools from Texas Instruments are available to enable users to develop their own embedded applications. In addition, the software package includes comprehensive sample programs with complete source code.
